This is a Christmas-themed hack that was started in 2019 and finished in 2022. There are 33 exits, spread across 5 worlds.

Story:

Bowser has stolen all of Santa's presents and even kidnapped him! Without Santa, nobody can deliver them!

The hack has 2 versions: an English version and a Portuguese version.

ABOUT:

This is a Christmas-themed hack, which has been in the works since 2019 and finished in 2022.

This hack has 5 worlds, just like The Quest for the Candies, which is a Halloween-themed hack that was also started in 2019 and finished in 2022. Almost all Christmas hacks only have a single level or a single world.

However, this isn't the first Christmas themed hack with more than a single world. An example of a Christmas-themed hack that has more than a single world is Super Mario World: Christmas Edition, made by Nowieso, which was first released in 2017.

Work on this hack started in early December 2019, and work on world 2 started in mid-late October 2020, on the same day Demo 2.0 of The Quest for the Candies was accepted on SMWC, and then finished in late November, to give me time to make and release Mario's New Year Mini Quest, a New Year-themed mini hack which was first released on December 31, 2020. And then, in 2021, I couldn't work on world 3 until the latter half of December, because I was working on a hack for the HackJam contest together with Zavok (known as Infinity at the time) and Fernand1527, which was finished and submitted with less than 10 minutes left for the contest's deadline. Because of that, Demo 3.0 was released after the 25th. Finally, in 2022, I started working on the remaining worlds before December because I wanted to finish this hack that year.

Compared to the other beta testers who have tested the beta version of the full hack, N450, my main beta tester who has tested almost every hack that was made by me, had quite a lot of nitpicks and suggestions for me, and the fixes/additions/changes that he asked me to do have been made for the final version. Examples include making certain checkpoints easier to be obtained, the Fire Flower filter in Frigid Cavern 4, changing an unfitting song, grammar/typo fixes and softlock fixes. There were a total of around 40 nitpicks/suggestions from him, which is the most I've received, with all of them being from his testing sessions of the beta version of the full hack. And then he proceeded to find a few more bugs/oversights that were still in the final version and give more suggestions, such as a cutoff, wrong corner tiles, adding clarification to a message and slowdown.

V1.0.2 (27/12/2022):

* Fixed wrong corner tiles with the throw block near the midpoint of Frigid Cavern 4. This was reported by N450.
* Updated the message in Frozen Lakes 4 to mention you can kill the Cooligans with fireballs as well. This was suggested by N450.
* Fixed a visual error where the status bar would stay in front of everything during the iris out effect in the goal sublevel of Bowser's City 3. This was happening because the sublevel used the main level as a base, and the layer 3 advanced settings weren't disabled.
* Added invisible coin blocks to the goal sublevel of Bowser's City 3, to make getting more bonus stars easier on that level.

V1.0.1 (26/12/2022):

* Slightly edited the first message of Frigid Cavern 4 to now mention about cheesing with the flower.
* Added a cement block to the top of the formation where you had to use a throw block to make the bouncing present drop down, right after the midpoint of Frigid Cavern 4. This is to prevent cheesing with a running jump.
* Fixed the timer starting at 400 instead of 500 if you start from the midpoint in Frosty Forest 4.
* Fixed cutoff with one of the candy canes in Fryguy's battle arena. This was reported by N450.
* Added cluster sprite at the midpoint of Frosty Forest 3. I forgot to do this.
* Replaced a coin block with a flower block shortly after the midpoint of Frosty Forest 3. This was another thing I forgot to do.

V1.0 (24/12/2022):

* Added "English" to the top-left corner of the title screen. In the Portuguese version, it instead reads "Português-BR".
* Added a second version of the hack that's translated to Brazilian Portuguese. All text has been translated on that version, including level names, message boxes, miscellaneous text and graphical text.
* Added a special "*33" graphic to the title screen when getting all 33 exits on a save file.
* Fixed overworld music speeding up if you finish or exit a level with less than 100 seconds left on the timer.
* Fixed typo in the Toad's House message where "rescue" was written as "rescure". This was reported by N450.
* Changed "damage" to "hurt" in the message that explains the Ice Bros. in Snow Plains 2. The message has received a few wording changes and now mentions their iceballs freeze Mario as well. This was suggested by N450.
* Made some wording changes to the message that explains mushrooms not replacing flowers in the item box in Snow Plains 2.
* Made a turn block platform wider, which had an Ice Bro., to prevent it from falling down.
* Made some wording changes to the message that explains the Flurries in Snow Plains 3.
* Moved Mario's checkpoint entrance in Snow Plains 3 by 3 tiles to the right. This was suggested by N450.
* Fixed an error with one of the frames of the reskinned Rex, where its neck was cut. This was reported by N450.
* Moved Mario's checkpoint entrance in #1 Larry's Castle to be right next to the midway gate. This was suggested by N450.
* Made some wording changes to the message that explains the cold water in #1 Larry's Castle.
* Fixed miscolored trees in the cold water section of #1 Larry's Castle. Due to that, the green pipes in that sublevel have been replaced with red pipes due to a palette conflict.
* The elf Goombas are now correctly referred to as elves in the message that explains how to defeat Larry in #1 Larry's Castle.
* Fixed the white parts of the Christmas trees staying visible after defeating Larry and Fryguy. This was happening because the trees were using palette 1.
* Fixed cutoff at the top of the screen in the bonus game. This was reported by N450.
* Added invisible blocks near the midway gates of Frigid Cavern 1 and Frigid Cavern 2, as an alternate way of getting the midpoint. This was suggested by N450.
* Moved Mario's checkpoint entrance in Frigid Cavern 1 by 3 tiles to the right. This was suggested by N450.
* Added a message block right after the midway of Frigid Cavern 1 that explains how to cross one tile holes. This is to teach players how to get that part without dying. The message used is copy-pasted from The Quest for the Candies.
* Fixed grammar error in the message that explains the falling icicles in Frigid Cavern 2. This was reported by N450. The message has received a few wording changes as well.
* Removed vertical scrolling from the bonus sublevels of Frigid Cavern 2 and Frigid Cavern 3.
* Replaced the sprite solid blocks in the bonus sublevel of Frigid Cavern 3 with Mario solid blocks.
* Increased the time limit in Frigid Cavern 4 to 500 seconds. This was suggested by N450.
* Fixed an error where "Don't" was missing the apostrophe in the message that explains the infinite throw blocks in Frigid Cavern 4. The last setence of the message has been changed as well.
* Added a flower filter gate to the main and the midway entrances of Frigid Cavern 4. This was suggested by N450. A second message block has been added that explains about it as well.
* Removed of one the infinite throw blocks that was present right after the entrance to the main area of Frigid Cavern 4.
* Added cement blocks above the bouncing presents that didn't have them in Frigid Cavern 4, to make defeating them with the throw blocks consistent. This was suggested by N450.
* Replaced the flower ? block right in Frigid Cavern 4 with a mushroom block.
* Added an infinite throw block right before the midway of Frigid Cavern 4.
* Added a mushroom ? block right after the midway of Frigid Cavern 4.
* Added an infinite throw block to the goal section of Frigid Cavern 4. This was suggested by N450.
* Fixed miscolored outlines of the Christmas trees in Frigid Cavern 4.
* Fixed misplaced period in the last setence of the message that explains how to cross the pits in #2 Fryguy's Castle. This was reported by AntonioDosGames. Also made some minor changes to the same message to fix the grammar.
* Made a donut bridge slightly wider, that had a Thwimp in it, and made the pipe with a Piranha Plant smaller, to make that part easier in #2 Fryguy's Castle. This was suggested by N450.
* Made some changes to Fryguy's battle arena, now you can't just defeat him by standing in the center of the arena and spamming throw blocks up. This was suggested by Storm Kyleis.
* Fixed a miscolored small hill in the Frozen Lakes portion of the large overworld map, that was below Frozen Lakes 2.
* Added one more flying Bumpty in the part where you have to use a throw block to defeat them, because you could cheese it by duck sliding. This was reported by N450. In the same part, one of the Piranha Plants has been removed.
* Made a hole smaller and moved a Bumpty 2 tiles to the left to make a pair of ? blocks easier to be reached, shortly before the midway of Frozen Lakes 1. This was suggested by N450.
* Removed 2 Bumpties and replaced a Koopa with an elf Goomba on a part shortly after the midway of Frozen Lakes 1 to try to fix slowdown. This was reported by N450.
* Slightly moved some Ice Bros. in Frozen Lakes 2.
* Removed a turn block bridge right after the midway of Frozen Lakes 2, because it was unnecessary and you could clip through the neighboring blocks or get crushed. This was suggested by N450.
* Added more yellow ! blocks on pits that had them in Frozen Lakes 2.
* Added one more pipe near the end of Frozen Lakes 2, where there's an upside down yellow pipe.
* Fixed wrong corner tile on the ledge where the midway gate was present in Frozen Lakes 3. This was reported by N450.
* Made the semisolid ledge near the start of Frozen Lakes 3 smaller, to add a donut bridge and replaced the green ! blocks with yellow blocks. This was suggested by N450.
* Removed a trio of green ! blocks shortly after the start of Frozen Lakes 3 and added an elf Goomba to that part.
* Right before the goal tape in Frozen Lakes 3, the green ! block above a multi-coin block has been removed and the ledge after it has been extended to the left.
* Removed a Cooligan shoother from Frozen Lakes 4 and Bowser's City 2.
* Filled a pit that had a green ! block to prevent getting the cape, shortly before the midway of Frozen Lakes 4. This was suggested by N450.
* Replaced the song of Frosty Forest cave sublevels with The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening - Level 6 (Face Shrine) (Remix). This was suggested by N450, who said the previous song (Trials of Mana - Political Pressure) is unfitting for a Christmas -themed hack for being too dark.
* Fixed miscolored lights that were black in Frosty Forest 1.
* Changed the palette of the safe falling leaves to be gray instead of having a purple hue. This was suggested by N450.
* Fixed a cutoff with a tree shortly after the start of Frosty Forest 2. This was reported by N450 and Storm Kyleis.
* Added invisible coin blocks between the ice blocks and the land formation with the midway gate in Frosty Forest 2. This was suggested by N450.
* Moved the sprite solid blocks to the right hole and the Koopa to the far right in the bonus sublevel of Frosty Forest 2, because the Koopa would go to the right instead of to the left. This was reported by AntonioDosGames and N450.
* Added a checkpoint to Frosty Forest 3, which is present right after the part with the invisible block. This was suggested by N450.
* Changed a part in Frosty Forest 4 where you had to ride a Flurry on top of sprite solid blocks to an easier setup.
* Replaced a Green Paratroopa with a normal elf Goomba, in the part that also has a Flurry and another Flurry in a midair box made of sprite solid blocks because the Paratroopa would touch the sprite solid blocks and fall to the hole to its right.
* Fixed being able to move up in Frosty Forest 4 even if you haven't unlocked Frigid Cave 4's secret exit yet (and to the left even if you didn't beat Frosty Forest 3 yet). This was reported by ForthRightMC and lordkronos100.
* Fixed a typo in the foruth castle's level name where "Undine" was written as "Undyne". Undine and Undyne are completely different characters from different games. This was reported by Storm Kyleis.
* The blue spinning things are now referred by their vanilla name (Ball 'n' Chains). This was suggested by N450.
* Fixed a grammar error in the message before the Undine battle, where the word "blocks" was mising the "s". This was reported by N450.
* Fixed green lights being miscolored on Undine's battle.
* Fixed Bowser's City 1 only revealing after activating the Blue Switch. This was happening because its level tile was placed on the wrong event. This was reported by ForthRightMC and lordkronos100.
* Removed the pit from the secret exit sublevel of Bowser's City 2, because you would get stuck if the key falls in the pit. This was reported by N450.
* Added the Block Duplication Fix patch. This was suggested by N450.
* Fixed cutoff ceiling in the bonus sublevel of Bowser's City 4. This was reported by N450.
* Added a few more blue ! blocks to Bowser's City 4.
* Removed the light blue spots from the large snowballs in Bowser's Castle.
* Removed a misplaced winged platform from Bowser's Castle. This was reported by AntonioDosGames and N450.
* The snowballs dropped by Bowser and the ones shot from the cannons are now correctly referred to as snowballs in the message that explains how to defeat Bowser in Bowser's Castle.
* Added Ralshi02 to the graphics section, lolcats439 and Tattletale to the patches section, Major Flare to the tools section, and also AntonioDosGames, ForthRightMC, lordkronos100 and Storm Kyleis to the beta testers section in the end credits.

Beta 1.0 (21/12/2022):

* Added worlds 4 and 5. The hack is now complete.
* Added 4 more patches:
* Multiple Songs on Main Map: This is to allow the Bowser's City portion of the main map to have its own music.
* Goal Timer Bonus Fix: This is to make the time bonus not glitch out when you finish a level with 400 or more seconds left on the timer, which can happen if you defeat Bowser when starting from the midway in Bowser's Castle.
* Level Depending on Event: This is to make Toad's House redirect to another level after beating Bowser's Castle.
* Widescreen Overworld: This is to make the viewable area of the overworld wider.
* Changed the Presents graphic text to English.
* Added a border to the title screen. The border uses graphics from the new item box.
* Changed the font of the status bar to be based on the font used for message and level name text. The item box is now red and white, with a candy cane pattern, and the coin icon now resembles a Christmas ball.
* Mario is now wearing a Santa Claus outfit. The graphics will be released to the public later so that other people can also use them for their Christmas-themed hacks.
* Added autosave, meaning you'll no longer lose progress when getting a game over.
* Fixed glitchy sprite solid block graphics in Frigid Cavern 4. This was reported by BeeKaay.
* Replaced the Ristar - Ring Rink port with a new one that is a remix made by EDIT3333.
* Rewrote the sentence that teaches the player how to melt ice blocks, in one of Snow Plains 1's messages.
* Slightly changed a part in #2 Fryguy's Castle to prevent a cheese. This was noticed during a Twitch livestream by BarbarousKing (Barbarian).
* Changed the intro message level and rewrote the message.
* Shortened Toad's House to a single screen and rewrote his message.
* Fixed the midway post's animation.
* New graphics for Rexes, Chucks, Ball 'n' Chains, Blarggs, Dino Rhinos, Dino Torches, Grinders, Dry Bones, Thwomps, Thwimps and hammers.
* The snowstorm cluster now uses palette A instead of palette 8, to prevent a conflict with the new Mario graphics.
* Slightly changed some parts in Snow Plains 3, where Flurries were used in slopes, since that sprite doesn't fully work properly with slopes.
* Fixed two miscolored small hills in the Bowser's City portion of the large overworld map.
* You can't reset the secret exit room in Snow Plains 3 anymore, though two of the turn blocks leading to the keyhole now have a coin inside them to prevent getting stuck. The message block has been removed as well.

* Added a few more buildings to the Bowser's City portion of the large overworld map, where the third level is located.
* Added holes in the ceiling at the end of Frigid Cavern's levels to prevent items spawned by crossing the goal from getting stuck at the ceiling.
* Removed a Piranha Plant near the start of Frosty Lakes 1.
* Replaced the music used in Snow Plains bonus cave sublevels with ActRaiser - Northwall: Act 1 (Tundra). The previous song (Pokémon Gold/Silver/Crystal - Dark Cave) is still used in Frigid Cavern 1.
* Moved the Ice Bros. in Snow Plains 2 to the right by a tile.

Demo 3.0 (27/12/2021):

* Added world 3 levels.
* Fixed a softlock in #1 Larry's Castle by removing 2 invisible blocks.
* Edited Frozen Lakes 1 background palette to be slightly blue tinted.
* Jump sound is now accurate to the vanilla game.
* Added some more decorations to the Frozen Lakes portion of the main map.
* Added red lights to the decorations of levels that were missing them.
* Fixed cutoff in the switch room and made it slippery.
* Fixed wrong music playing when defeating Larry.
* Changed Buzzy Beetle graphics in Frigid Cavern 2 to the penguin ones for consistency.
* Altered the message in Snow Plains 3 to mention the Flurries can be killed with fireballs as well.

* Altered the message in the secret exit room in Snow Plains 3 to now mention pressing L+R instead of entering in the pipe to reset the room. I forgot to update it when I released 2.0.3.

Demo 2.0.3 (31/12/2020):

* Fixed "icle" typo in the message box in Frigid Cavern 2.
* Fixed softlock in Frigid Cavern 4 where the keyhole is by adding an upside down cloud.
* Fixed item memory in some sublevels.
* In the secret exit room in Snow Plains 3, you now reset by pressing L+R.

Demo 2.0.2 (26/12/2020):

* Fixed unenterable pipe that leads to a bonus room in Frigid Cavern 3.

Demo 2.0 (24/12/2020):

* New title screen logo and made some adjustments to the logo palette.

* Replaced the Super Mario Maker 2: Super Mario Bros. 3 - Snow port with LadiesMan217's port of the same song.

* The jump sound effect now sounds closer to the original SMW's sound.
* Added decoration trees to #1 Larry's Castle.
* Made some changes in the world 2 map, such as adding trees and altering the layout to add a waterfall and a lake.
* Edited some OW graphics.
* Remade world 1 layer 2 events.
* Overworld events now reveal faster.
* Added 3 patches:
* SMB3 Powerdown patch (with smoke when taking damage), this is to make gameplay slightly easier.
* Item Box Mushroom Priority Fix, this is to make mushrooms not replace fire flowers when having a fire flower in reserve.
* Move Layer 3 to Subscreen Fix, this is necessary for Frigid Cavern 4 as the background of that level makes use of layer 3 behind layer 2.
* The Switch Palace and the inside of the Toad House are now slippery.
* The water in #1 Larry's Castle now doesn't instantly kill you, now it only hurts you if you stay on it for longer than a second.
* Fixed wrong pink color in the throw blocks in Snow Plains 2.
* Added a message block to the secret exit sublevel in Snow Plains 3 and made the pipe reenterable.
* Altered the message before the Larry boss in #1 Larry's Castle.
* Increased the time limit in Snow Plains 3 by 100 seconds.
